What if I have never taken a lesson in
Authentic Pilates™ but I am considering
certification?
The best way to decide if this career is
right for you is to engage in private sessions which will
help you understand the physicality of Authentic Pilates™. This system of neuro-muscular re-education
will teach you to move differently and to use your muscles
and body in a new way. You will probably find the first few
sessions challenging, but don't let that discourage you. This
process will help you understand what it would be like to
teach others.
It is required for all applicants to take 35 prerequisite private sessions with a Pilates Guild Certified Teacher™ or other Piates Guild® approved teacher to gain experience and understanding of this form of exercise. This system of muscular reeducation will teach you to move differently and to use your muscles and body in a new way. After the completion of the documented prerequisite sessions an evaluation and an interview are arranged at a Certification Center. Certification centers are located in New York City, NY;www.rhinebeckpilates.com; Merida, Mexico; Athens Greece; and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
